A Wonderful First Week

The much expected week one of the English premier league was as predicted, very interesting.
The very first match brought an edgy performance from the Hull City team that scared the day light out of the Carlo Ancellotti tutored Chelsea.
The match saw Hull's new signing,Nigerian international,Seyi George Olofunjana as well as former Reading man, Steven Hunt, all featuring at the blast of the whistle. It will be recalled that last season, it was the former reading player that caused a major injury to Peter Cech, that was why the Chelsea stopper always wear the head gear during matches. It was Hull new signing, Steven Hunt who was being booed at the touch of the ball that drew first blood 26 minutes into the first half. He scored after a series of scrappy defending from the Chelsea defence and blasted home without making a mistake. Chelsea however, equalised towards the dying minute of the first half with a wonderful free kick after Mikel Obi has been fouled at the edge of the box.
Just when all was settling for a draw, Chelsea equalised. It was Portugal play maker, Deco, that played the killer pass to Didier Drogba who made no mistake by slotting the ball out of the reach of the Hull City keeper.
This left Chelsea's new coach with a victory after the first game in charge. The challenge shall countinue for Chelsea on Tuesday.

It was score-spray for Arsenal side who hammerred Everton 6-1. Fabregas brace inspired the gunners and Arshavin's performance made life difficult for David Moyes tutored Everton.

The red devil started on a bright note with a lone goal from Wayne Rooney who was at his best. He could have had a hat-trick but for shear ill-luck. It ended their poor start at two seasons where they drew their matches.

The big surprise of the weekend was Liverpool who received shock of their life at the hands of Tottham Hotspurs 2-1. This surely will leave Benitez thinking out a new tactic to the game with all the teams improving. It is like the prophesy of Alex Ferguson who said that Liverpool will find it tough this season since all clubs has already mastered their pattern of play.
